Vortex light fields and trapped ions

We  investigate the interaction of trapped single ions, and crystals of trapped ion with shaped light fields, such as vortex beams. The work is in collaboration with the group of Christian Schmiegelow  and supported by the Alexander von Humboldt fundation. Recent publications are:
